Case Study: Dark Energy Resolution

Validated with Pantheon+ SN, BAO, and RSD (Full Covariance)

The ΛCDM Assumption

ΛCDM inserts vacuum energy Λ tuned to data. QFT prediction overshoots by 10¹²⁰ → the “worst prediction in physics”.

The Dephaze Operator

E²(z) = Ωm0(1+z)³ + (1−Ωm0)[1 + β ln a],   a=(1+z)−1
w(a) = −1 − β / (3[1 + β ln a])   (β<0 ⇒ quintessence, stable)

Numerical Validation

Pantheon+ Supernovae

Test χ²/ν: ΛCDM = 1.11 vs. Dephaze = 0.99 (better generalization).

BAO Geometry (BOSS DR12)

Both models fit within 1σ. Dephaze retains predictive power with β.

RSD Growth

ΛCDM overpredicts fσ₈. Dephaze (β<0) softens growth → improved match.

One-Move Checkmate

ΛCDM survives only by re-fitting σ₈. Fix σ₈=0.811 (Planck prior):

ΛCDM collapses (χ²↑). Dephaze unchanged (β absorbs growth correction).

Conclusion

Dark energy is not vacuum but the Φ³ log-tension. Dephaze passes SN, BAO, RSD and survives the σ₈ “removal move”. ΛCDM does not.
